Building Automation Project

Project Introduction:

We got to integrate the Airsens pre-smoke detectors, temperature controller, I/O Module Controllers alarm system and the Siemens SCADA. The pre-smoke detector is a very important equipment in the world. In the semi-conductor factory, VESDA is the most popular pre-smoke equipment in factory. But this time, we face the other brand named AirSense from England. The system got to integrate the Siemens SCADA with Modbus and show all of the status of the densors.



System Requirement:

    Conclusions:

    In this case, we design the Airsens controller OPC server and integrated with the SCADA. It’s easy and efficiency. There are so many special devices in every walk of lives. Most of the special devices go for the specific protocol and do not be supported by SCADA. OPCTechs could develop the device driver for OPC sever and connect to the SCADA with OPC client interface.



    County Government Building Automation Project

    Project Introduction:

    In the county government building, we need to integrate the power meters、two way light controller、fan system and fire alarm system. We got to collect all of the data into the SCADA. The system could not only monitor the signals but also control the equipments in the fields. People could use IE Browser to monitor all of the status or values of the equipments. From the figures of the SCADA, the operators could be informed to manage the alarm signals. It could also be informed someone by email or phone call.

    Conclusions:

    In this case, we met the Panasonic two way light controller with specific protocol. There is not any SCADA or Driver could connect with this devices. This is why our customer wanted OPCTechs Corp. to help them integrate the system for them.



    Light Control System

    Project Introduction:

    My customer wants to have a SCADA system to connect with the National two way lights controller in IKEA building. There are too many loop control signals connect to the National hardware. We got to show all of the light status, light group status. Light control and group control function. They also need to have a scheduling system to define the light group turn on or off schedules by calendar.

    Conclusions:

    In super market or the commercial buildings, nearly all of them use National or Toshiba two way light control system to manage thousands of lights. The customers and the SCADA are different all the time. But the OPC Server are the same. They all use OPCTechs National two way light controller OPC server 2.0 to combine with different kind of SCADA. Besides, most of the SCADA do not have the scheduling function, so we use VB to design the scheduling system and combine with OPC and SCADA. Most of my customers satisfy this system by using this solution.



    School Building Automation Project

    Project Introduction:

    In this case, we got to use PLC to control the high school air conditioner system. All of the AC signals should be integrated in SCADA. The control process should complete in PLC but all of the important signals should be shown on the screen. When the alarm occurs, the operator should manage the emergency situation. Besides, the rest of the PC could be the web client. The staffs of the school could monitor the screen by IE at any time.

    Conclusions:

    The air conditioner system should operate normally all the time. The stable system is very important for AC control. We use stable PLC to control the AC operated alternatively. It could increase the life of AC and it could also save the electricity power. Using the powerful Advantech SCADA, we could monitor and control the PLC by OPC server. The client side PC could see the screens the same as the server through IE.



    Glory Home Building SCADA Case

    Project Introduction:

    In the glory home buildings, there are so many humanity and safety equipments inside. In this case, my customer used Johonson Control SCADA with OPC client interface. We got to integrate the Lutron light controller for motion, Simplex fire alarm machine, Panasonic safety system and PLC. In the central control room, the guards should monitor all of the alarm signals to prevent the emergency event from occurs. Even the alarm occurs, the guards should manage it rapdly.

    Conclusions:

    There are so many glory home buildings focus on the comfortable, safety and computerize. The central control room is necessity for safety. The reason why my customers need OPCTechs is we can help them to integrate any kind of the equipments if we got the devices communication protocols. We also familiar with so many SCADA, OPC client software and programming languages.



    Building Automation System

    Project Introduction:

    We use ICPDAS M-7000 I/O module to establish a building automation system. In this case, we use VB to design the user friendly interfaces to present user friendly figures. It helped the users to manage the system easily. The protocol of M-7000 goes through standard Modbus protocol. So we use OPCTechs Modbus OPC server to integrate M-7000 modules and VB.

    Conclusions:

    In some cases, because of the low costs, the system integrator will design the program by themselves. The communication issue will be a big problem. We tell our customers to use OPC Server to be the communication middle software and design the OPC client to connect to the OPC server. It makes the system stable and efficiency. Right now, we successfully use VB、VB.NET、C#、C++ Builder、Delphi、Excel、Visual C++ to connect to the OPC server and well done a lot of cases.



    Case for Temperature Control System

    Project Introduction:

    Temperature controlling systems exist in most multi-storey buildings. When it comes to Temperature controlling system, In Taiwan, DEI is the second to none. However, the protocol used in DEI’s products is not so popular. For this case, we use both OPC Server and VB to finish this job.

    Conclusions:

    OPCTechs OPC Server support part of popular devices, such as all series of Melsec PLC, Omron PLC and AB PLC. Moreover, we also provide well organized structure of OPC Server and Client, so all the monitoring program and self-developed program could be integrated with each other easily. Time for developing Driver program could be saved.



    Case for Power Controlling

    Project Introduction:

    Inside a modern building, engineers could integrate PLC, generator and other power meters through OPC Server. With the help of OPC Server, it is easy for the engineers obtain the operating data of devices to control or analyze the instruments.

    Conclusions:

    Usually, traditional buildings adapted traditional ways to control the power system. Traditional power controlling system tends to be influenced by outside force easily, such as contract and a power failure); therefore, it required lots of tools to keep systems running smoothly. Now, all the problems mentioned above could be solved easily with the help of OPC Server.



    Case for Central Control Room

    Project Introduction:

    In this case, there are three plants which were separately located in Tainan, Kaohsiung and Pingtung. Among them, only the plant in Kaohsiung works 24 hours a day taking over of all the jobs belonged to other two plants in night. For this mission, OPCTechs provides Melsec A series PLC and customized EDP90 OPC Server for EDP90 UPS to integrate all the instruments.
